First Glimpse: Lovecrafted Dice Maker Mash Fundraiser for the MTA

Notice a chill in the air? It could just be the approach of the end of summer...
Or it could be the tingle of a dark specter, here to herald in the best time of year.

Fall is right around the corner, and that means all my favorite things will be back in style: Spooky season, pumpkin spice, and most importantly creative challenges like Dicetober! Last year I was thrilled to participate in a dicetober event for the first time. And this year, I wanted to host one of my own.

But I didn't want to host just any creative challenge. I wanted to host THE creative challenge. So how do I get all of the wonderful artists I've met on this amazing journey to join me? Well, what if we teamed up to do some good?

About the Lovecrafted Dice Maker Mash Fundraiser for the MTA

This year I will be presenting prompts for the spooky season, but I also will be encouraging those who join me to help promote a good cause. The Mastectomy Tattooing Alliance (MTA) helps support breast cancer, BRCA, and transgender/non-binary communities in their healing journey after mastectomy, reconstruction, and gender affirming care. MTA helps connect people with experienced tattoo artists, and provides funding to cover the cost of beautifully crafted tattoo designs, or natural realistic 3D areola-nipple tattoos. These tattoos are of huge significance and can be life changing; helping those who seek them close a door in their journey and embark on a new chapter feeling uplifted, empowered, and more like themselves.

The Lovecrafted Dice Maker Mash is a digital event that invites other artists/makers to create art based on prompts presented by Lovecrafted Dice. Artists who participate are asked to either promote awareness for the MTA as they share their prompted art, and/or donate part of their art sales revenue towards the cause. This event is not limited to just dicesmiths but all creatives who enjoy fall themes and good vibes!

The event will officially run from September 1, 2024 to October 31, 2024 but I'm announcing it now so that makers who want to attempt every prompt have time to get a head start. Participating artists can pledge whatever precent of their proceeds that they see fit, and can attempt all prompts or just one. Participants are welcome to create and fundraise at their own pace during the event timeframe, donating proceeds at anytime during the fundraising event through the event JustGiving page.

To close out the event, an auction of donated works will take place (more details coming soon!!) in which all proceeds will go to the MTA.

How to Participate

Create from the prompts:

Follow these twenty fun prompts in any order you see fit, sharing your process/work during the timeframe of the event. Prompts can be used in any order, and any prompts can be swapped for your own idea if you see fit. You do not need to complete all twenty prompts to participate, if you would like to do one or two that's fine too!

There are twenty prompts so dice fans can roll a d20 to see which one to do next, re-rolling when a prompt is complete. Any way you choose to approach these prompts is welcomed--the most important thing is that you have fun!
